Who is worshipped
The diya's flame represents the dispelling of darkness and ignorance, inviting light, knowledge, and divine presence into the home. Lighting a brass diya during daily aarti and festive rituals is one of the oldest and most universal acts of Hindu worship.
How to use in puja
1. Fill the diya with ghee or oil and a fresh cotton wick. 2. Light it before beginning aarti or any puja. 3. Offer it to the deity by gently circling it in clockwise motions. 4. Let it burn out naturally rather than blowing it out.
Place diyas on the home altar or near the entrance during Diwali and daily puja, ideally facing East. Wipe with a soft dry cloth after use; a light brass polish restores shine if the finish dulls over time.
Hand-cast in solid brass by artisans in Moradabad and finished with a polished golden lustre that deepens with regular use.
